NCTE: New generation of E-bike sensors

Munich/Oberhaching, March 3rd 2020: NCTE launches a new product generation of e-bike sensors on the market, where special emphasis was placed on robustness. Within the check of DIN standard EN 15194 for e-bikes and pedelecs, all requirements have been successfully passed. In addition, the e-bike sensors SBBRP and SBBRT from the NCTE (www.ncte.com/e-bikes) had to undergo a 96 hour salt spray test and the hardness test according to the current ISO 4210 standard for trekking bikes and mountain bikes. In doing so, the company confirms that the sensors are designed beyond the product-specific applicable European Guidelines.

NCTE sensors SBBRP and SBBRT measures speed and torque complete contactless

Due to the completely non-contact measurement, the sensors function precisely and reliably even under challenging conditions. They are long-term stable, maintenance-free and even strong vibrations and dirt – such as on a mountain bike – cannot harm them.

Partner for jerk-free e-bikes for 10 years

In the e-bike market, NCTE has been a reliable partner of companies such as Fazua (Evation drive for CUBE, Focus, Bianchi, etc.), Schaeffler, Van Raam and Pendix since 10 years. Contactless technology is crucially linked to the e-bike boom: The precise measurement of the forces exerted by the rider on the rotating shaft is the basis for a harmonious riding experience without the disturbing jerky E-drive.

For the e-bike sensor, the company magnetises the existing crankshaft in the Pedelec. The bicycle manufacturer does not have to change the original design in the bottom bracket and retains control over the mechanical properties of his system.

In addition to e-bikes, the non-contact sensors are also used in other segments such as motor sports, e-mobility, medical technology, Industry 4.0 or mechanical and agriculture.
