Quality, customized and in series: NCTE e-bike sensors at Eurobike 2022

Smart and robust measurement technology enables harmonious riding experience with all e-bike drives regardless of terrain

Munich/Oberhaching, May 18, 2022: NCTE will present its sensor solutions for e-bike drives at Eurobike, Hall 8, Booth G14, from July 13 to 17, 2022. Trend topics such as bicycles, light electric mobility and the mobility revolution are bringing the industry’s leading trade fair, Eurobike, to Frankfurt for the first time in more than 100,000 square meters of space.

Measurement technology for torque, speed and direction of rotation is at the heart of e-bike drives, whether in the bottom bracket, mid-motor or hub motor (front or rear drive). Via precise measurement on the shaft, the sensor technology creates a unity between rider and e-bike – the basis for a harmonious, jerk-free riding experience.

“Our sensor solutions are robust, sustainable and flexible to use. The technology is not visible in the e-bike on the road or off-road, but everyone will feel it immediately when the e-drive engages without jerking,” says Jürgen Uebbing, CEO of NCTE AG.

NCTE develops and manufactures its non-contact torque sensors in the highest quality “Made in Germany” at its location in Oberhaching near Munich. The contactless sensor technology provides data for the drive of city bikes, cargo bikes, mountain bikes and special-need bikes. Companies such as Fazua, Pendix, Fischer, VanRaam and many others use the sensor technology to leverage the potential of their e-bike drives.

Wear-free over the entire life cycle of the e-bike

The sustainable advantage of contactless sensor technology: it does not require maintenance and can be produced cost-effectively in any quantity. The sensor technology with magnetic technology functions precisely over the entire life cylce of the e-bike, even with strong vibrations and dirt. Battery life is also extended thanks to intelligent switching on and off.

Because the magnetized shaft itself is the central component of the sensor, e-bike manufacturers do not have to modify or tape any components, nor do they have to plan for additional space in the drive during development. NCTE supports e-bike manufacturers with its know-how from the development phase to series production.

About NCTE AG

NCTE is a specialist in non-contact sensor technology using the principle of elastic magnetostriction. The medium-sized company employs 40 people at its site in Oberhaching near Munich. NCTE develops, produces and sells sensor solutions that measure mechanical forces (torque, force, shear, speed or bending) in a completely non-contact manner – as standard sensors and customer-specific solutions, both in individual production and for series production. Customers include Fazua, Pendix, Red Bull Racing Team, Schaeffler, Fischer and VanRaam.
