Smart farming needs data – NCTE at Agritechnica 2025

Munich/Oberhaching, October 17, 2025 – Without data, there can be no digitalization, no efficient machine control, and no smart farming. This is precisely where NCTE comes in: with its contactless sensor technology, it makes torque and forces in agricultural machinery measurable – robustly, reliably, and in real time. At Agritechnica 2025 (November 9–15 in Hanover), NCTE will be demonstrating in Hall 17, Booth C01, how sensors are becoming the key to sustainable, resource-efficient agriculture.

The technology is based on the magnetostrictive measuring principle and delivers precise real-time data directly at the shaft – without mechanical contact and without modifications to existing components. This makes the sensors robust, maintenance-free, and easy to integrate. They are used in a wide range of applications – from fertilizer spreaders and seed drills to balers, combine harvesters, and tractors.

The heart of smart machines

The data provides the basis for predictive maintenance, reduced resource consumption, and a longer service life for critical components. In fertilizer spreaders, it enables precise control of the spread rate, saving up to 20% fertilizer. In balers, it ensures uniform bale density and higher bale quality. In combine harvesters, the sensors monitor the load on the shear belts, thus protecting the cutting units from overload.

One example is the PTO 7300, a plug-and-play sensor for the power take-off shaft. It enables precise torque and power monitoring in the field and in test operation – and reveals where resources can be saved and processes optimized.

“Data from the machine is the key to efficiency and sustainability today,” emphasizes Tobias Wiesenzarter, Sales Manager at NCTE AG. “Our sensor solutions deliver this data directly at the drive train – and thus give machines meaning and intelligence, so to speak. This is the only way to truly implement smart farming and digital off-highway concepts.”

With its trade fair presentation, NCTE is showing how sensor technology is becoming the heart of smart machines – and how it supports OEMs and farmers on their way to greater productivity and sustainability.
